Abstract

The article examines the consequences of economic crimes, summarizes the experience of theoretical and empirical research on crime in the sphere of the economy of Ukraine. In the interpretation of the concept of "economic crime", legislative, departmental and research approaches are distinguished, the difficulty of detecting crimes in the economic sphere and the high level of latency of economic crime are argued. The main trends of the change in the situation from the standpoint of criminalization and decriminalization of the economy of Ukraine are outlined.

The analysis made it possible to determine the directions of combating economic crime in Ukraine with the mandatory involvement of digital technologies. Economic crimes that encroach on the interests of securities owners are also analyzed. The priority directions of the internal affairs bodies in the sphere of ensuring the economic security of investment activities are considered. It was found that economic crimes committed with the help of securities cause huge material losses to the countryʼs economy, and create financial support for the activities of organized criminal groups, are characterized by increased public danger due to the fact that they harm both market participants and and the economy as a whole, increasing investment risks and worsening the investment climate.

The article examines the criminological characteristics of a new socio-legal phenomenon emerging today in the field of illegal business activity, which is called organized economic crime. The types of organized criminal formations in the economic sphere are analyzed. A criminological description of the personality of some representatives of organized crime is given. The types of activities of organized criminal groups in the economic sphere are classified. The trends in the development of organized economic crime have been determined. It has been established that representatives of organized crime and representatives of illegal entrepreneurship have merged.
