Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the institutional component of ensuring the political rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen - the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as the only legislative body in Ukraine. The article analyzes the tools for securing political rights and freedoms by the Parliament of Ukraine. In particular, through the adoption of relevant laws, the Parliament of Ukraine exercises control over their implementation, and also reacts in case of need. Also, the Verkhovna Rada has its own, separate instrument of such control - the Commissioner for Human Rights.

The object of control of the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is the executive power, as well as a wide range of state bodies and local self-government bodies, their officials, that is, public power in general, which indicates the administrative-legal direction of such control. The fulfillment by the Commissioner of his task of examining specific cases of violation of the political rights of citizens and taking measures for their protection and restoration enables him to study the most problematic issues in the sphere of relations between man, society and the state and to develop proposals for their solution.

Each deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine can monitor compliance with the legislation of Ukraine, as well as ensure and respond, in case of violation, of the political rights of citizens through appeals and requests of the people's deputy.
